MUGELLO – Aldo Festante concluded the penultimate weekend of the Porsche Carrera Cup with an excellent performance: third place in Race 2 and sixth place in Race 1. More than satisfactory result considering the unfortunate exclusion from the qualification.

The fifth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup was held on the famous Mugello Circuit from 3 to 4 October. A weekend made more insidious by the rain that complicated the delicate maneuvers to tackle the curves and straights of Mugello, a difficult circuit to deal with.
Although the young driver was ready to attack the track to reach the highest positions of the standings as soon as possible, however despite having conquered the fifth time an
unexpected problem during the tire change led to Festante’s disqualification from the aformentioned.
Aldo, however, did not let himself down, and in Race 1, starting from the last place, with an excellent performance he managed to conquer seventeen positions to finish the competition in the sixth place.
Not satisfied with the excellent performance shown in Race 1, Festante put all of his technical knowledge as a pilot to use, fighting with his rivals for the top positions of the standings. After fifty minutes of breathtaking curves and fast straights, the pilot from Capua managed to get on the podium again, finishing the race in the third place.
The final balance of the weekend is more than positive, seeing Aldo competing with continuously growing performances, even with adverse weather conditions.
The Porsche Carrera Cup will end with the last weekend in Monza where Festante intends to push his car to the maximum to finish the championship with a golden result.

“A positive weekend which could have had a totally different taste. Being excluded from qualifying was a bad surprise but we mastered the situation and came back strong !”
