GOOD START OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP FOR FESTANTE AT IMOLA
IMOLA – Aldo Festante concluded the first weekend of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia in the top ten of the general classification. A satisfying start, which saw the young pilot juggle his opponents with great determination aboard the new Raptor Engineering car of the Porsche Center Catania.
The first round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Italia in Imola held on 7 and 8 May, ended, with thirty-seven drivers competing for the top step of the podium. The theater of the competition was the legendary International Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome, a technical and dynamic circuit, on which Aldo Festante has competed in various competitions over the years.
The weekend started very well, with a sixth place in qualifying 1 which satisfied the men of the Raptor Engineering Team, considering that it was Aldo’s first experience on the new 911GT3 Cup 992.
Race 1 saw the young driver start tenth, a position he maintained until the end of the first round, amid numerous duels and two safety cars.
In Race 2 Festante, starting tenth managed to finish in the ninth position, resulting in the second-fastest driver on the track at 269.3 km / h. The work carried out with the Raptor Engineering team in the two stages was also excellent.
The weekend ended with tenth place in the overall standings, a good starting point to embark on a championship aiming for the highest ranks of the standings.
