LE CASTELLET – The first round of the Euroformula Open championship, held at Paul Ricard, ended with the eleventh place in Race2. Race 1 was characterized by an accident that prevented Festante from finishing the race. The overall balance is positive and the young driver is confident to achieve increasing results during the championship.

The first round of the Euroformula Open was held at Paul Ricard from 27 to 28 April. The insidious French circuit was the scene of the first real challenge for Festante after the summer break. In this session, the young Capuan driver tried to push the new engine of his Dallara to the maximum, to make himself immediately competitive and trying to conquer the highest positions in the ranking. Unfortunately, in Race 1 the ambition of Festante suffered a sudden setback, caused by an accident that forced the pilot to forced withdrawal.
Race 2 was characterized by a sudden collision with a detritus on the first lap, which compromised the performance of Aldo’s car, which ended the race in eleventh place.
The driver and the team are confident that the results obtained are an excellent starting point to gain even better results over the course of the next eight championship races, placing themselves as leading players in the 2019 Euroformula Open.

“We had decent pace during the whole weekend, the crash in race one compromised the result on Sunday as it’s very hard to recover from a 3pos grid drop.
Overall I think the work we have done so far is giving us a lot of confidence and we have to keep it on to get better and better”
