VALLELUNGA – The weekend ended with a vanished second place in Race 1 and the sixth place in Race 2, in which Aldo Festante was the fastest driver of the competition, scoring a time of 1’35 “913. A good performance for the Capua native driver, who is now preparing for the penultimate round of the championship.

The fourth round of the Porsche Carrera Cup, held in Vallelunga from 17 to 19 August, saw Aldo Festante in great shape starting from the free practice. The weekend opened with the young pilot conquering fifth place in qualifying 1 and third place in qualifying 2 respectively, thus being able to start third on the starting grid. In Race 1 Festante, led an aggressive and tenacious race, obtaining the second position in the very first moments after the start. But at 4 minutes from the end, a problem with the tires forced Aldo to retreat to the eleventh position, finishing a day in which the podium seemed very close.
Race 2, on the other hand, was characterized by the almost constant presence of the safety car on the track, which continually interrupted the pace of the race and prevented the young driver from making an important comeback towards the top positions of the standings. Festante still took home sixth place, but above all, he scored the fastest lap, with a time of 1’35 “913, confirming his considerable potential.
The weekend ended with a bit of bitterness in the mouth for the missed podium, but the Capua native pilot is already working with the Ombra team, in view of the penultimate stage of the Porsche Carrera Cup in Franciacorta, determined to end the season in the best way possible.

“The performance was good but we didn’t materialize the result we hoped for. In race 1 we had a tire crisis and a contact seriously damaged my Porsche; in race 2 the numerous safety cars prevented me from gaining further positions. In Franciacorta we will try to take home some big points. “
